Oh, Canada

It seemed much too soon to be time to head back to Chicago, but there it was. We left Banff early on Sunday morning to drive Highway #1 back to Calgary. Dinosaurs, East Coulee and Drumheller, Gopher Hole Museum, Mt. Edith Cavell, the Lake Agnes Teahouse—all were safely packed away in my camera.

Past the beautiful scenery, through the Bow River Valley, the mountains settled down as suddenly as they had appeared. Soon we were zooming past Calgary's Olympic Park, on the south side of town.

It's a short drive back to the airport. It seemed to take longer to drop off our rental car and find the terminal than it did to drive from Banff.

Our flight was a few minutes late, but the Calgary airport has comfortable chairs. Before long, I looked out the airplane window and saw the flat plains beginning to recede, and before I realized it, we were back in Chicago, parking lot E, A14, headed back to Monday morning.
