Reality intrudes.
Even though we went to the spectacular Tuschinski Theater (an art deco masterpiece if there ever were one) and watched the Dutch premier of "Star Wars: Attack of the Clones," we couldn't escape the fact that reality calls us back to Chicago and Bloomington.
What will I miss most about Amsterdam?
The flowers
The architecture
The
birds
(especially the crazy coots)
The views
and, of course, much more.
Before we know it,
we're at the airport at 6:00 am, awaiting our 8:00 flight back to Chicago
(while downing coffee). No matter how nice Singapore
Air is, it's still a long flight.
Where will our vacations take us next? We aren't sure. Perhaps Madrid or Lisbon. Tom talks of Iceland. Maybe even London again. We shall see.
