The Quirinal |

Just a little north of the Esquiline Hill is the Hill of the Quirinal, the seat of government for Italy, including the palace. |

From the exterior, the building looks rather plain. But you could tell from the guards and their costumes that the interior was probably quite opulent. The surrounding neighborhood features lovely gardens and residences, a pleasant spot for resting. |

| Just past the Quirinal Palace is the site of the Trevi Fountain. Again, there were so many people, you could barely get close to the water. However, Tom and I both made sure to toss our coins into the fountain, ensuring our return to Rome. | |
