The Floriade

On June 3, we went to Centraal Station, got a dagretour (day-roundtrip) ticket to Schipol Airport. At Schipol's Information Booth, we bought tickets to the Floriade (buying them there granted us free shuttle bus service to and from the Floriade site at Haarlemmermeer, about 25 minutes from the airport).

The Floriade is a once-a-decade garden extravaganza, with exhibits from dozens of countries around the world. It was much more commercial than I expected (i.e., buy our culture), but still a lot of fun.

Best plant: the odd, dark bright blue petunia that looked like a blue daisy!
